Bike Trek #3

So far this would be my longest ride ever. I was excited. I mapped out a route and off I went - it was a hot afternoon - but I was prepared... or not.

The downside of the ride was the wind - I was not ready for that. It took me a lot longer than I figured, and  it was super hard. I got cranky...but I did it.

The good side - and I am quickly learning there is always a good side  - was the  most amazing summer smells.... bbq's, flowers, even the farms smelled - fresh. With each gust of wind it was bringing something new. 

And I do have to say, I love where I live. I picked a route that explored farm land, industrial area, and urban streets. I didn't like that too much - too much traffic.

One of the best parts was the incredble number of blueberry farms along the route - and they are ripe and there are tons of them. I decided to drive by when I was finished as pick up a treat.  I'd forgotten how wonderful fresh blueberries are!!! YUM.

What I have decided is that I need to get my handle bars adjusted - they are too low, and the longer rides are starting to bother my back - legs are great, but my butt and my back are sore!!!

My legs are pretty wobbly - but I feel accomplished. My next trip will be 50 - 60km --with a new seat.

I almost rode near the neighbourhood where my friend used to live....but I didn't get that far. That will take more than physical strength....it will be emotional too.

Its a distance calculator that will not only map out your route - it will tell you how far it is.

A friend suggested that I take some pictures of my journey - so here are the first few. The corn stalks get bigger each week!! 

And I saw a rabbit - he was too fast to get a photo of - horses, cows and these cute goats.
